In anticipation of the PGA Senior Championship tournament on this new Pete Dye Golf course at French Lick, IN, a friend and I painted the landscape with its spectacular views plein air.  This is the 9th Hole, 410 yards, Par 4.  We stayed two days and I got two paintings which I'm quite pleased with.  The French Lick Resort was able to acquire this spot (the second highest point in Indiana) including the old Taggert mansion which is now the club house.  Pete Dye removed all the trees on this huge hill and built one of his famous golf courses.  He wanted every Hole to have a great view, and he certainly succeeded.  We will definitely be back for the fall color.
